Job Description

As an Engineering Technician II, the technician supports resort operations by performing maintenance tasks, including projects, preventive maintenance, and work orders.

    As an Engineering Tech II, you will: 

    • Perform engineering projects, guest calls, blitzes, and preventive maintenance as directed by resort management
    • Troubleshoot plumbing issues, make repairs, and replace fixtures and piping as needed
    • Diagnose, replace, and repair minor electrical components such as receptacles and ballasts
    • Troubleshoot and repair appliances and household fixtures
    • Understand HVAC systems and perform basic preventive maintenance and diagnostics
    • Repair interior and exterior walls, wall coverings, and ceilings, including texturing, painting, and caulking
    • Repair or replace tiles, grout, vinyl, and carpet as required
    • Work with pools, spas, and water features, including chemical balancing and cleaning tasks
    • Participate actively in procurement and inventory processes to ensure materials and tools are available for work
    • Operate resort operations devices and software effectively (HotSOS and other applicable systems)
    • Communicate professionally through radios, phones, emails, and verbal interactions
    • Perform maintenance and cleaning tasks as required by resort management
    • Safely use hand tools, power tools, and battery-powered tools required for the job
    • Work using ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
    • Follow safety guidelines and practices
    • Recognize and identify potential safety hazards on the property
    • Communicate and interpret guest needs through positive interactions toward resolution
    • Adhere to all CFI/Westgate Resorts policies and procedures
    • Always represent Westgate Resorts professionally through appearance, attire, and behavior
    • Perform other tasks as assigned by resort operations leadership

    Qualifications
    • Minimum of 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in trades and maintenance within a resort or commercial environment.
    • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
    • CPO (Certified Pool Operator) license as required by the resort.
    • Written and verbal communication in English is expected.
    • Regularly, the team member must lift, move, push, or pull up to 50+ pounds.
