Job description

Job Title: Engineering Technical Specialist

Pay Rate: $36.00/hour(Compensation will be based on experience)

Assignment Length: 12 months
Conversion Opportunity: Temp-to-hire potential based on business needs, performance, and available openings (not guaranteed).

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Work Location: 3858 Benner Road, Miamisburg, OH 45342


Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Technical Specialist to provide hands-on technical support for Carbon Monoxide distillation operations. This role combines strong engineering knowledge with practical troubleshooting and maintenance expertise to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable production processes. The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded mechanical and/or chemical engineering background and be comfortable working across multiple disciplines in a manufacturing or chemical processing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the operation, maintenance, and optimization of the Carbon Monoxide distillation process while ensuring compliance with established operating procedures and safety standards.
  • Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and routine maintenance on process equipment, including reactors, condensers, separation units, and associated systems.
  • Develop, implement, and manage preventive maintenance, calibration, and asset management programs for critical process equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, maintenance, and quality teams to improve process efficiency, equipment reliability, and overall plant performance.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards, current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), environmental regulations, and company safety policies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, process changes, calibration records, and quality documentation within the site's quality management system.
  • Assist in root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions to minimize downtime and improve operational reliability.
  • Train and mentor maintenance technicians and junior team members on process equipment, operating procedures, and best practices.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and equipment performance.

Qualifications

  • Strong engineering background with experience in mechanical, chemical, or process engineering.
  • Hands-on experience supporting industrial manufacturing, chemical processing, or process plant operations.
  • Broad technical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical, process, instrumentation, and equipment-related issues ("jack of all trades" mentality).
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs, equipment calibration, and asset management.
  • Working knowledge of process safety, quality systems, and regulatory requirements, including ISO and cGMP standards.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in documenting maintenance activities, technical procedures, and compliance records.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting distillation processes or gas purification systems.
  • Experience in chemical manufacturing, specialty gases, pharmaceuticals, or other regulated process industries.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies and root cause analysis techniques.
    Education:
    High School diploma or equivalent is required
    Drug test required
