Job Description:

Logistics Engineering Project Manager

The Opportunity:Contribute To The Growth Of Your Career.

As an Engineering Project Manager within TJX Corporation's Logistics Engineering team, you will be the leader in designing, procuring, and building the material handling systems for TJX's distribution centers supporting our TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Homegoods, HomeSense & Sierra stores.

Responsibilities may include designing material handling equipment utilizing AutoCAD, along with leading project installation, vendor assessments, procurement, flow analysis and any additional ad-hoc projects.

  • Work with DC business partners to address operational concerns within the Distribution Centers. Using a flexible/process improvement mentality to improve existing systems and procedures, increase efficiency, add capacity, and resolve problems from issue identification through resolution.

  • Develop short and long-term capital strategy to support DC volume growth

  • Coordinates all aspects of each assigned engineering project from inception through the final stages of the project, including design, vendor sourcing and selection, financial management, schedule development, installation, communications, and startup.

  • Researches all historical data available, evaluates existing systems to estimate critical timing sequences, projected construction costs, Distribution Center space needs, systems expansion and subsequent equipment needs.

  • Find creative solutions to ensure all material handling equipment installations are performed in a timely manner and minimizes disruptions to the Distribution Center or other company operations.

  • Investigates "groundbreaking" technologies to evaluate whether new concepts are applicable or beneficial to The TJX Companies

  • Mentors Project Engineers and lead special projects, where needed.

  • Leads capital projects up to $100 million or more in total cost

Who We Are Looking For:You.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferably Industrial or Mechanical)

  • 6+ years' of Engineering & Project Management experience

  • Experience with material handling systems

  • Distribution Center/Retail experience preferred.

  • Experience with AutoCAD Design

  • Understanding of work methods analysis

  • Detail oriented, strong organizational and conflict resolution skills

  • Ability to balance multiple projects and changing priorities and work independently as well as in a team environment

  • Project Management experience leading teams

  • Negotiation/influencing skills and strong communication skills

  • 40%-60% Travel is required
