Purpose

The Industrial Engineer is responsible for optimizing complex systems, processes, and workflows to improve efficiency, productivity, quality, and cost performance. This role focuses on analyzing operations, reducing waste, and implementing data-driven solutions that enhance overall organizational effectiveness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Analyze production processes, workflows, and systems to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities
  • Design and implement methods to optimize labor, materials, and equipment utilization
  • Conduct time studies, work measurement, and process mapping activities
  • Develop and maintain standard work instructions and process documentation
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies
  • Evaluate facility layouts and recommend changes to improve flow and reduce waste
  • Collect and analyze data to support decision‑making and performance improvements
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including operations, quality, supply chain, and management
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities and support budgeting and forecasting efforts
  • Improve ergonomics and workplace safety through process and workstation design
  • Support capacity planning, line balancing, and production scheduling efforts
  • Assist with implementation of new systems, technologies, or equipment
  • Monitor KPIs and prepare reports on operational performance
  • Ability to complete standard process time study
  • Other duties as assigned
Education and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field
  • 2–5+ years of experience in manufacturing, operations, or process improvement (varies by level)
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Minitab, Power BI, or similar)
  • Familiarity with time study techniques and process optimization tools
  • Understanding of production systems, supply chain, and operations management
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Project management experience is a plus
  • Certification such as Six Sigma Green Belt is preferred but not required
Physical Demands
