Job description

Epsilon is a leader in the Off-Site Construction (OSC) industry, delivering mechanical/electrical-centric systems in a modular, prefabricated form, optimized for a streamlined on-site completion by us or others.
Job responsibilities:The Assistant Project Manager (APM) is responsible to support the Epsilon Field operations team in the successful delivery of off-site construction projects through a lifecycle that begins with submittal development, continues through fabrication and production, shipment and field installation/commissioning, and ends at the conclusion of warranty period. Successful delivery is measured using a series of factors, including schedule, scope, cost, and external stakeholder satisfaction.
The APM will be expected to support multiple projects simultaneously, each at different stages in their lifecycle. The APM will also be interfacing with sales and engineering offices in multiple regions of the US and Canada, along with personnel at the company's headquarters and primary manufacturing location.Job duties
  • Supports the Development and management of project schedule at each phase: engineering (submittal development, fabrication and production documentation), factory production, delivery, field installation support, start-up and commissioning, and warranty period. Proficient in Microsoft Project. Other scheduling software experienced welcomed but not required.
  • Monitors project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems with the rest of the Field Operations Team.
  • Leads development and processing of project submittals, for review/approval by 3rd party engineer - based on amalgamation of project specifications and drawings, relevant construction and performance standards, and the proposal as accepted by owner; lead submittal reviews with both internal and external parties.
  • Supports project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes - then recommends changes as applicable that will improve project delivery
  • Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information - for internal and external use
  • Maintains current and accurate records of all project-related communications (external and internal) as the primary point of contact for the company
  • Ensures that quality standards are maintained throughout the production phase for assigned projects, by coordinating with internal quality control personnel
  • Establishes a professional relationship with the customer and interfaces to maintain accurate status reports and project reviews.
  • Communicates with customers, stakeholders and their representatives - including building owners, construction managers, sub-contractors, product/equipment manufacturers and associated representatives, and field support staff.
  • Supports and Attends meetings with external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle to support regular project meetings; represent company to discuss scope of project, schedule, performance, and close-out
  • Performs site visits to active projects as required and at key milestones (delivery, rigging/installation, commissioning, turn-over/training, etc.)
  • Supports the scheduling of start-up and commissioning activities to support customer's project timeline
  • Assimilates and catalogues the required information for a successful transition into warranty period, including issuance of warranty letter, IOM's, closeout Documents, and Test reports.

Education / Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering, or Construction Management, with a minimum of two (2) years of project management - HVAC (systems, equipment, installation, and/or service) or related experience; or a minimum of six (6) years of project management - HVAC (systems, equipment, installation, and/or service) or related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Job qualifications
  • Fluency in MS Project software suite (Word, Excel, Project, etc.)
  • Experience with Autodesk products like Navisworks a plus.
  • Ability to work remotely and independently
  • Ability to work as part of a cross-functional team (sales, design engineering, factory production, field installation)
  • Demonstrated analysis, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated Assistant project management skills; being able to visualize, plan, orchestrate and execute multiple projects concurrently in order to meet multi-faceted goals (time, scope, and budget)
  • Ability to handle a dynamic, evolving and demanding workload
  • Ability to manage key relationships with stakeholders, e.g. customers and sub-contractors
  • Ability to interface diplomatically with individuals (both internal and external) at various levels within an organization
  • Flexibility to work outside normal work hours/weekends, as required
  • Some overnight travel required (approx. 25-50%)
