From bridge and structural engineering to civil, electrical, mechanical, and process engineering, Kleinfelder’s collaborative Design Services create synergy across multiple disciplines.

Step Into Your New Role

As a Project Manager, Mechanical Engineer on our MEP engineering team within our facilities department, you will work closely with architects, owners, developers, site development engineers, structural engineers and other team members to provide project management and technical expertise, design and consulting services for all aspects of facility and site design. This includes HVAC and Plumbing engineering design primarily for buildings. Our projects are diverse and include both public and private sectors in many different markets such as local, state and federal government as well as healthcare, higher education, senior living and multi‑family housing.

Most of our team enjoys a hybrid schedule, which allows us to offer this role in one of our Mid‑Atlantic offices: Hunt Valley, MD or Mechanicsburg, PA.

Responsibilities
  • Manage all phases of project execution including project organization, subconsultants management, scheduling, financial management, health and safety stewardship, and reporting to deliver a full range of mechanical and design engineering services that include complex, multi-disciplinary projects through planning, design and construction.
  • Lead and participate in technical guidance and project scoping activities providing technical leadership and direction to project teams.
  • Lead and participate in technical, cost, and scheduling decisions, ensuring company quality standards (including internal quality control and risk management protocols such as peer reviews), and drive customer value.
  • Provide technical guidance, design and skill‑based solutions to project teams, vendors and clients to drive project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations and permitting requirements.
Requirements
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of related experience.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license required. (MD or PA preferred.)
  • Ability to be the “Designer of Record” when required.
  • Strong technical expertise, specifically in MEP/Facilities space.
  • Knowledge with MS Office, AutoCAD, and Revit.
  • Ability and motivation to obtain PE in additional states desirable.
  • Experience with sustainability and LEED project certification is a plus.
