Job description

The Opportunity
We are looking for a Principal Engineering Program Manager to lead complex, multi-org data and platform programs within the Adobe Unified Platform team. This role requires deep expertise of the data lifecycle, data platforms, and ETL/ELT ecosystems and strong critical thinking, and the ability to drive alignment, influence decisions, and deliver measurable business outcomes at scale.
What You'll Do
  • Own and lead large, complex, multi-team programs with significant business impact
  • Define program strategy, operating model, and execution approach
  • Foster alignment among Product, Engineering, Architecture, Data, and Business collaborators
  • Establish clear program goals, success metrics, and outcome tracking mechanisms
  • Oversee dependency management across multiple systems and teams
  • Anticipate risks proactively and drive mitigation strategies at scale
  • Influence product and technical decisions to optimize business outcomes
  • Drive decision-making frameworks and reduce execution ambiguity
  • Lead executive-level communication, including program updates, risks, and tradeoffs
  • Optimize resource allocation and prioritization across competing initiatives
  • Build and scale repeatable program management practices and governance models
  • Leverage AI and data insights to improve program visibility, decision-making, and efficiency
  • Mentor and guide junior Program managers(TPgM) and contribute to TPgM capability building

What You Need to Succeed
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 10-15+ years of program management experience in cloud/data platforms or related domains
  • Deep understanding of end-to-end data lifecycle, including data platforms with strong expertise in ETL/ELT systems, coordinating data management, accuracy, and traceability
  • Possess working knowledge of metrics, targets, data modeling, and data governance, quality, and lineage.
  • Define success metrics (north star and supporting benchmarks) and align teams on hard-working goals.
  • Proven ability to define and drive outcome-based programs with measurable impact
  • Advanced experience with Agile methodologies and large-scale program execution
  • Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and program reporting tools
  • Strong familiarity with AI/ML concepts and AI-powered efficiency tools
  • Outstanding collaborator management and executive communication skills
  • Strong analytical, evaluative, and decision-making capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across org layers

Expected Pay Range:
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $146,300 -- $277,400 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.
In California, the pay range for this position is $191,600 - $277,400
At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
