Job description

About the role:

As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will perform complex engineering design and analyses in the commercial nuclear industry. You will also provide technical leadership and project management in development, performance, and delivery of technical products and services. These efforts will focus on product development projects that require the integration of team efforts across multifunctional groups.

You will report to the Manager of New Product Development and be located at Blairsville, PA. You will support this position 100% onsite.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide periodic updates to all appropriate internal and external personnel.
  • Develop and deliver presentations to communicate statuses, problem resolutions, recommendations, or promote business-related products.
  • Evaluate workforce, equipment, systems needed to accomplish goals.
  • Specification of new processes and designs, development, installation, and qualification of new equipment.
  • Develop, debug, and qualify new processes/techniques for manufacturing operations.
  • Develop new and improved procedures, processes and methods for implementing product manufacturing into current plant operations.
  • Define quality levels, failure cause, analyze drawings, specifications and other documents to determine quality requirements.
  • Monitor and correct quality problems associated with manufacturing processes.
  • Analyze designs and implement improvements to facilitate manufacturing at lowest cost consistent with results. Develop alternate solutions promoting less expensive operations.
  • Suggest sources of manufacture and develop new sources with Purchasing.
  • Apply modern engineering science (such as lean manufacturing concepts, six-sigma methodology, and statistical process analysis) theories to improve the efficiency of manufacturing processes.
  • Analyze and recommend use of technological innovations in machinery and manufacturing techniques to solve complex manufacturing problems.
Qualifications:
  • We require a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • 3+ years of applicable manufacturing experience required.
  • Familiar with material properties associated with metal working operations.
  • Experience with NDE ultrasonic or eddy current technology

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $85,200 to $106,500 per year.
