The Stanley Black & Decker Leadership Development Program ("SLP") is a high-profile rotational program that is an integrated process for accelerating the development of our future leaders. It is geared toward recent graduates with Human Resources internship experience and a relevant business degree with a passion for a long-term career in Human Resources and People Operations.
Engineering SLPs work in three 8-month rotations in Engineering, Product Management and Operations at different facilities across the United States. Each rotation has project assignments that allow participants to become familiar with how we do business and contribute to the success of that facility. The program offers invaluable experiences for early-career associates seeking challenging developmental opportunities to jump-start their careers.

The Job:
As a part of the SLP program, you'll be part of our Engineering team. You'll get to:
  • Build core professional skills and competencies in Engineering, which include our cross functional relations in Product Management and Operations.

  • Multiple touchpoints & networking with our dedicated Program Team, SLP Peers, C-Suite Executives, SLP Alumni, and GSC Leadership & Business Partners.

  • Upon successful performance, support is provided with post-program placement into roles that continue to demand excellence and leadership skills.

The Person:
You love to learn, grow, and be acknowledged for your valuable contributions. You're not intimidated by innovation. You also have
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Minimum of one internship experience in an Engineering related role.

  • Recent graduates or early career professionals with less than 2 years of professional experience (including internship/ co-op experiences).

  • Demonstrated leadership values & behaviors, and core professional skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, learning agility, and accountability.

  • Passion and curiosity for function and industry.

  • Software and program experience preferred: SAP, 3D CAD; CATIA, DeepHow, etc.

  • English proficiency - native or bilingual fluency

  • This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship (H1B, OPT/CPT, TN etc).

The Details:
  • Must be willing to rotate work assignments, projects, and teams every 6-12 months throughout the program. Relocation for a minimum of one rotation may be required; relocation assistance available.

  • This hybrid role will begin in either New Britain, CT or Towson, MD
