Northrop Grumman is seeking a talented Systems Engineer to join our Systems Integration & Test team under the Tactical Fighters Business Unit. Candidate should be a self-starter with a strong mechanical or electrical engineering background. This position will be in Linthicum, MD.
Roles & Responsibilities:
As part of the Systems Engineering Integration & Test functional homeroom, the Systems Engineer will be responsible for supporting system-level hardware qualification testing.
Looking for second shift support in our ETL SIL. These responsibilities will include:
โ€ข Operate system bench and execute qualification test procedures for Environmental, EMI, and Electrical Power Testing
โ€ข Troubleshooting hardware failures specifically with Environmental, EMI and Electrical Power testing conditions.
โ€ข Rigorous I&T processes & procedures
โ€ข Effective communication with team leadership and multi-disciplinary teams
โ€ข Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate internally and external team members
โ€ข Ability to communicate test failures and support troubleshooting effort
โ€ข Process/analyze data to generate qualification report SDRLs (supplier data requirement list) Compile data and define changes required in test equipment, test procedures, or new test requirements.
โ€ข Support test environment stand up at ETL and maintain interface documentation
โ€ข Interface with hardware and systems engineers in support of troubleshooting and verification.
Basic Qualifications:
โ€ข -Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 5 years of engineering experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical fields OR
โ€ข -Master's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 3 years of engineering experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical fields OR
โ€ข -PhD in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 0 years of engineering experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical fields
โ€ข An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
โ€ข Knowledge and experience with systems hardware
โ€ข Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a US Govt. DoD Secret Clearance with special access prior to start date.
โ€ข Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex hardware integration issues
- Familiarity with executing MATLAB scripts
- Troubleshooting system hardware and software configurations
Preferred Qualifications
โ€ข Experience writing and running MATLAB scripts in MATE (MATLAB Automated Test Environment).
