In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work of medium to high complexity as per work instructions and ABB guidelines. Each day, you will deliver excellent customer service to satisfy customers. You will also showcase your expertise by working with customer to identify opportunities in the installed base, to improve system performance and operational performance.

This role is contributing to the Energy Industries division within Automation Business, focusing on the cybersecurity solutions for Distributed Control System (DCS) environments based in Cheonan, South Korea.

You will design and implementDesign and implement integrated cybersecurity solutions for Distributed Control System (DCS) environments with medium to high complexity.

The role involves architecting and deploying comprehensive security systems utilizing technologies such as WSUS, NAC, NAS, SIEM, FIREWALL/UTM, and patch management technologies to protect critical industrial infrastructure.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Contributing to customer satisfaction by planning and executing service work as per customer order and expectations.

  • Ensuring customer retention by delivering superior customer experience and effectively communicating service work timeline and expectations.

  • Taking actions to identify new service business opportunities for ABB, in close cooperation with customer and other ABB teams.

  • Coaching technicians and engineers and supervising complex site activities.

  • Designing and specifying integrated DCS cybersecurity solutions, including security architecture, frameworks, and technology selection aligned with standards such as IEC 62443 and NIST.

  • Implementing and integrating cybersecurity systems (e.g., WSUS, NAC, NAS, SIEM, firewall/UTM), including system hardening, secure configuration, and HMI upgrades.

  • Managing patching strategies and secure access in OT environments, ensuring system availability while supporting vulnerability management and threat detection activities.

  • Supporting end-to-end deployment, testing, and commissioning of security solutions, and preparing technical documentation and design artifacts.

Qualifications for the role

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in DCS security engineering, cybersecurity, or related industrial automation security roles.

  • Solid knowledge of DCS security platforms and hands-on experience such as WSUS, NAC, NAS, SIEM, FIREWALL /UTM, and network security.

  • Strong background in industrial cybersecurity standards (e.g.,IEC 62443, NIST Cybersecurity Framework), experience in network and security design for power plants (e.g., KDHC) is preferred.

  • Proven experience in system integration, threat assessment, security architecture design, vendor management, and DCS security hardening.

  • Practical skills in network security, access control, encryption, vulnerability management, and incident response.

  • Proven leadership skills with collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Business-level proficiency in English (verbal and written) and fluency in Korean

  • Willingness to travel frequently to domestic sites (over 60%).
