What you’ll do:

  • Business development, including developing and managing client relationships, and strategic proposal writing.
  • Lead and manage the environmental aspects of municipal infrastructure projects, including environmental studies, permitting, tender development, contract administration, and construction compliance.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, regulatory agencies and other stakeholders to ensure environmental requirements are integrated into project design and implementation.
  • Provide expert guidance on environmental regulations, policies, and best practices to ensure project compliance.
  • Act as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies.
  • Mentor and support junior staff, fostering a culture of professional development and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers and other scientists.
  • Support and lead project management, including task planning, scheduling, and budgeting.

Does this sound like you?

  • Graduate degree in an environmental discipline (e.g. biology, environmental science, geography, earth science, or soil/reclamation science).
  • 8+ years of experience in consulting (with a focus on municipal infrastructure projects based in Alberta).
  • Preference will be given to candidates who hold a professional designation (P. Ag, P. Biol., P, Geol., RPF) and have experience with Alberta’s regulatory framework.
  • CPESC (Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control) certification and experience in erosion and sediment control is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate environmental requirements into engineering projects at the proposal, business development, pre-design, design, tender and construction phases.
  • Proven experience as an effective and results-driven project manager.
  • Strong knowledge of the Alberta market, including key local and regional stakeholders, with an in-depth understanding of environmental regulatory frameworks and policies.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
