Job description

The Kelly Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager / Estimator for our Decatur, Illinois facility, to oversee industrial and commercial projects from pre-bid to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed estimates for civil, structural, and mechanical projects
  • Focus on concrete foundations, structural steel, and heavy equipment installation
  • Supervise, coordinate, and support superintendents and field crews
  • Conduct site visits and attend pre-bid meetings to assess scope and constructability
  • Review, negotiate, and manage contracts and subcontracts
  • Lead pre-job planning meetings covering scope, schedule, manpower, sequencing, safety, and special requirements
  • Track project costs, profitability, and schedule performance
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers
  • Promote and enforce safety standards and safe work practices

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • Minimum of 5 years in estimating and/or project management experience
  • Proficient at cost tracking, cost distribution, and standard contracting procedures.
  • Construction industry experience
  • Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience estimating concrete and structural steel projects
