Job description

The Wesson Group is a leading heavy civil and infrastructure contractor specializing in transportation, energy, and environmental projects. We are committed to delivering high-quality work with a strong focus on safety, innovation, and sustainability.

We are seeking a motivated Civil Engineering/Management Intern to join our team and collaborate on projects throughout Western New York. This internship offers a hands-on experience in construction management and provides exposure to project scheduling, field operations, and site supervision, while working alongside experienced project managers and superintendents. This is a full-time, hourly position.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with project scheduling, planning, budgeting, and coordination
  • Support field supervision in daily construction activities
  • Help prepare and review project documentation including RFIs, submittals, and change orders
  • Participate in site inspections, safety meetings, and progress reporting
  • Work with project managers to track costs, materials, and schedules
  • Collaborate with subcontractors, vendors, and site crews to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and to quality standards
  • Support project managers in tracking progress, safety compliance, and quality control
  • Assist with resolving field challenges through teamwork and problem-solving

Skills & Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Construction/Engineering Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Familiarity with project management software or scheduling tools (preferred).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in team environments.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn.
  • Willingness to work in both office and field environments, with travel to project sites across Western New York.
