Job Description:
University Sustainability Practices is seeking a self-starting, organized, and ambitious Management Intern to assist with its signature engagement programming. The Management Intern will work with the Senior USP Program Manager to help build, manage, and coordinate engagement programs, with a focus on the Eco Reps program. Eco Reps is a grant-funded peer-to-peer sustainability engagement program based in residential communities of ASU campuses. Additional engagement responsibilities throughout the year will include supporting Campus Sustainability Month, Earth Month, and other sustainability outreach events and initiatives. Applicants should be available to work in the role for at least one year and will start immediately. The anticipated work schedule is 20 hours per week. $21.75 per hour
Essential Duties:
Tasks include, but are not limited to:
• Serve as the main point of contact for daily needs for a cohort of up to 20 student Eco Reps.
• Ensure timely and foresightful flow of Eco Reps program administration.
• Creation of sustainability educational materials, program reports, and essential program documentation.
• Content creation, including digital, video, graphics, and other media.
• Weekly management of Eco Rep time reporting and Google Drive functions/organization.
• Assistance with Eco Rep interview and hiring processes.
• Planning and hosting of Eco Reps team meetings, training sessions, and other in-person engagements (often in afternoons/after business hours).
• Correspondence and concise communication with the Program Manager and Eco Reps.
• Assistance with in-person engagements during Campus Sustainability Month in October and Earth Month in April.
• Attendance at in-person Eco Reps events and engagements.
• Planning and hosting the annual Fair Trade Showcase in April.
• Days and Schedule: This is part-time, 20 hours per week.
Desired Qualifications:
• Evidence of a degree in sustainability, environmental sciences, or a related field.
• Knowledge of sustainability concepts and experience communicating sustainability concepts to others.
• Experience with sustainability programming and outreach.
• Experience with student oversight, management, and mentorship.
• Experience planning and hosting workshops and events.
• Exceptional planning and organizational skills.
• Evidence of effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with public speaking.
• Proficiency in Adobe and Microsoft Office programs.
• Broad experience, involvement, and familiarity with the greater ASU community are a plus.
• Marketing, engagement, outreach, or equivalent skills.
• Displays attention to detail and brings innovative ideas.
Working Environment:
• Primarily working in a shared office space; most of the work consists of using a computer workstation.
• Frequent on-campus engagement activities outside of the office space and in evening hours.
• Occasional travel to and work at other ASU valley campuses.
