Position Summary

We are seeking a Director of Electrical Engineering with extensive MEP building design experience to lead the electrical engineering discipline. This role is ideal for a licensed Professional Engineer with a strong background in commercial, healthcare, education, mixed-use, or other building projects who enjoys mentoring engineers, managing multidisciplinary projects, and ensuring technical excellence.

Responsibilities
• Lead electrical engineering design for building projects
• Manage and mentor engineers, EITs, and designers
• Review, approve, sign, and seal engineering documents
• Coordinate electrical engineering with architectural and engineering disciplines
• Manage project schedules, staffing, budgets, and technical quality
• Meet with clients to develop engineering solutions
• Perform electrical calculations and prepare engineering specifications
• Support hiring, performance reviews, staff development, and business growth
• Maintain engineering standards and quality assurance processes

Requirements
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
• 10+ years of MEP electrical engineering experience within the built environment
• Leadership experience managing engineering teams
• Expert knowledge of NEC (NFPA70), Energy Code, IBC, NFPA72, NFPA101, and NFPA110
• Proficiency with Revit MEP, SKM, AGI, ComCheck, Bluebeam, BIM360, and Microsoft Office
