As a member of the Corporate geology team,youwill work with Corporate andWestDivision geologists to supportgeological aspects of theaggregateindustry, including but not limited to exploration and drilling, logging and sampling, geologic database management, geologic modeling and mapping, mine planning, reserve evaluations,andoperationsupport.
Responsibilities:
- Champion the Martin Marietta safety culture; ensure compliance with allMSHA, OSHA,andCompany safety standards and practices, ensure proper operation, maintenance, and repair of department equipment and assets
- Responsible for coordinating, analyzing, andmaintaininggeological datato supportgeologic modeling, mine planning and estimation of reserves; coordinating with Corporate and Divisiongeologists,engineersand operationmanagement toprepare models, maps, plans, and geologic cross-sections asrequired
- Assist Division geologists asrequiredwith items such aspermitting or zoningrequirementsforcurrentoperating facilities, green sites, and potential acquisitions;creation of geologic databases;development of maps andpermitdrawings including pit design, final reclamation design, gradingplans and other site design needs
- Provide geologic consultation, advice, and analysis to company mining, engineering, and management personnel; coordinate groups in a team environment to develop mine plans and make recommendations
- Assistwithcorporate drilling and exploration operations;locateproject test holes,complete geologic logging and quality sampling, andfield data collection
- Professionally represent the company;participatein professional organizations, communicate and coordinate exploration activities with landowners and other companies
- Support yearly budgeting,planningand forecasting
- Work closely with corporate departments including land, tax, technical services,engineeringetc.
- Make regular presentations/recommendations to management
- Other geologic duties as directed by department management
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Mining, or equivalent experiencerequired,capable of achieving PG license in 3-5 years a plus
- 5+years' experience, with somepreviousmining industry experience desired
- Possess a strong personal commitment to leadershipinsafety
- Proficient in Microsoft Office;Experience inAutoCAD, GIS,Carlsonand other mine planningsoftwarea plus.Must be willing to become proficient in geologic modeling,mineplanningand GIS software
- Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills; strong time management skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Strong interpersonal skills;self-motivated withability to work productively in both individual and group settings
- Overnight travel throughout the US
The hiring range for this position is $95,000 -$130,000 exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary). The offered base compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The hiring range for this role represents the base compensation we expect to pay for the position at time of hire and does not represent the total possible base pay of the position. In addition, this role is eligible for our annual bonus program. Bonuses awarded under this program are determined based on the performance of the organization and the employee.
