The Stellantis Design Managers are responsible for exceptional design leadership in a variety of functional areas, brands, and products. The ACM Exterior Paint Design Manager is responsible for leading specific functional disciplines, complex cross functional projects, global collaboration and broader Design Office initiatives with high aesthetic development, leadership maturity, and high-level of quality execution. The Design Manager will identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives and lead the connection between Design office, paint operations, purchasing, materials engineering, and manufacturing. Must demonstrate balanced decision making with respect to program costs and complexity.
Successful candidates must have substantial experience or knowledge in developing and leading within Stellantis Exterior paint and manufacturing core functions from conception to post-production. This includes having a clear understanding of the Stellantis timing and required deliverables for exterior paint material development. The candidate must have a solid foundation of working with engineering, brand, planning, purchasing, manufacturing, and craftsmanship teams to innovate material development for exterior paint. They must be able to report out and escalate color and material development status and prepare model year exterior paint plans. They must be able to define and express a strong design vision, and must also be able to collaborate with suppliers, engineers, and developers as they work on diverse programs and projects. Design Managers must have strong leadership and presentation skills.

Basic Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree
  • A minimum of 8 years of automotive, product design, materials engineering or manufacturing experience, with increasing responsibility and leadership
  • A minimum 2 years of management or leadership experience
  • Have Led 3+ Design Programs or equivalent: production program from feasibility brief thru production or significant completion of a major project or concept vehicle.
  • Ability to artistically represent 2-D using a wide variety of presentation techniques, Photoshop and/or similar programs and including Excel.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills. Ability to inspire and engage large audiences.
  • Ability to drive collaborative relationships.
  • Must possess an exceptional awareness of the global state of automotive design concepts and emerging design trends
