SummaryDetailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Directs activities to support all manufacturing operations equipment availability (uptime), preventative maintenance of equipment, scheduling of technician training, project planning and implementation, scheduling of equipment installation, purchasing of spare parts and supplies for area related needs.
  • Supports and manages customer test process sustaining effort including incorporation of engineering changes and identifying yield improvements efforts.
  • Manages activities pertaining to new product test development and implementation into manufacturing.
  • May manage a group of engineers with the responsibility for the completion of multiple related projects encompassing several different areas (i.e. Quality, Manufacturing, Supplier, etc.).
  • Tracks the execution of the projects under development.
  • Assists upper management and business development teams by providing technical input and direction to assist in meeting the project goals or customer requirements.
  • Ensures that any customer or manufacturing issues related to existing products are addressed with high priority.
  • Conduct engineering analysis and/or testing of products to validate that products meet customer requirements.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the design process for systems and printed circuit boards, subassemblies, or other related company products.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment used for systems and printed circuit boards and subassemblies.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry and quality standards and SPC methodologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of materials and components used in the construction of systems and printed circuit boards and subassemblies.
  • In-depth knowledge of material science, robotics, machine programming.
  • In-depth knowledge of product pricing, contracts and contract negotiations.
  • In-depth knowledge of design engineering (e.g., analog circuit design, digital circuit design, digital integrated circuit design, etc.) for systems and printed circuit boards.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT platforms, database design and programming languages.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing and SCM/Logistics information processes.
  • Excellent customer contact, negotiation and problem resolution skills.
  • Excellent project management, presentation, database management and computer skills.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical process control methods and techniques.
  • Ability to design tests, evaluate results and recommend solutions to improve the processes associated with SMT and optical manufacturing.
