Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Columbia, MD, supporting the design and development of mechanical systems for electronic products. This role is well-suited for an early-career engineer who enjoys hands-on work, technical problem-solving, and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.
The Mechanical Engineer will support Integrated Product Teams in the design, analysis, manufacture, and testing of digital, RF/analog, and mixed-signal electronics hardware across multiple levels of integration, including chip, PCB, module, chassis, and system-level designs. This position offers strong mentorship, technical growth, and exposure to real-world product development in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design mechanical parts, enclosures, and assemblies for electronic systems using SolidWorks
  • Create and update 3D models, 2D drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Support thermal and structural evaluations through simulation, analysis, or testing
  • Collaborate closely with electrical engineers to ensure proper PCB integration, fit, and mechanical clearances
  • Assist with prototype builds, lab testing, and design verification activities
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to product improvement discussions
  • Apply best practices in electronics packaging, manufacturability, and material selection

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • 1-5 years of relevant experience (internships, co-ops, or academic projects accepted)
  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software
