Senior Civil / Structural Engineer

Greenville, SC (Primary) | Nationwide Office Flexibility

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors is seeking a Senior Civil / Structural Engineer to support complex industrial EPC projects across the U.S. This role is based in Greenville, SC, with flexibility to support work from additional Hargrove offices in Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, and Pennsylvania, depending on project needs.

This position focuses on technical execution, interdisciplinary coordination, and team leadership on civil and structural scopes for industrial facilities.

What You'll Do
  • Perform civil and structural design for complex industrial projects

  • Apply advanced analysis and engineering judgment under general supervision

  • Develop conceptual designs, structural layouts, and cost studies

  • Produce estimate-level and detailed designs, calculations, and material take-offs

  • Review and check calculations, drawings, and vendor documents

  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and project leadership

  • Support procurement through scopes and technical bid packages

  • Assist drafting teams by providing clear sketches and design intent

  • Review construction submittals and fabrication drawings

  • Provide construction and field support as required

  • Lead or support small to large project teams focused on scope, schedule, and budget

  • Participate in interoffice execution and virtual team collaboration

What We're Looking For

Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
    (Structural coursework required for structural assignments)

Experience

  • 6+ years of relevant industrial civil/structural engineering experience

  • EPC or industrial project experience preferred

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred, but not required

Technical Skills & Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of:

    • IBC and associated standards (ASCE, AISC, ACI)

  • Experience with civil/structural analysis software

  • Knowledge of engineering practices for industrial and manufacturing projects

  • Ability to:

    • Estimate engineering effort and construction quantities

    • Support team delivery and meet project commitments

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Ability to work effectively with virtual and crossdivisional teams
