Job description

Hayward Holdings Inc. Hayward designs, manufactures, and markets a full line of residential and commercial pool and spa equipment including pumps, filters, heating, cleaners, salt chlorinators, automation, lighting, safety, flow control and energy solutions at our company owned facilities. Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, Hayward also has facilities in Tennessee, Arizona, and Rhode Island as well as Canada, Spain, France, Australia, and China.
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the manufacturing engineering function to support safe, efficient, and high-quality production of Hayward's residential and commercial pool and spa products. This role provides both strategic and hands-on leadership, driving process excellence, capital deployment, automation, and new product introductions while developing and mentoring a team of manufacturing engineers.
This position partners closely with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Product Management and Product Engineering to deliver continuous improvement, cost reduction, and scalable manufacturing solutions aligned with Hayward's values of Care, Respect, Lead, and Grow. This role is located in Nashville, TN.
Responsibilities:
  • Past experience with automation as it relates to low to medium volume assembly, testing and packaging.
  • Proven experience in developing production equipment, tooling and fixtures, including design, justification specification and qualification.
  • Experience with Statistical Process Control and Lean Manufacturing techniques
  • Ability to multitask using numerous software planning tools and reports to track and maintain on time scheduling of resources.
  • Support all current and new product introductions.
  • Demonstrated project management ability - must facilitate groups and negotiate effectively with key suppliers. Interface with external vendors to source high quality equipment and fixtures.
  • Must be able to work effectively as part of a team to identify opportunities, identify product & equipment weaknesses and to be able to solve problems through collaboration and consensus.
  • Assist in developing plant layout in planning rearrangement of facilities, equipment and operations for better utilization of space.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing documents: BOM's, Routers, Manufacturing Instructions, work orders etc. Create and maintain production routers.
  • Ability to work with CAD software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks and generate engineering drawings.
  • Support production through efficient and effective identification and resolution of line issues.
  • Identify and initiate process improvement projects that have meaningful impact on product quality and process yield. Make recommendations for improvements; troubleshoot problems and develop necessary corrective actions.
  • Work with Design Engineers to ensure that products are designed for manufacturing and that manufacturing process is capable of producing them to specification and quality requirements.
  • PC Computer proficiency with MS Office
  • Develop a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians that work together to maximize the department's productivity.

  • Ability to venture into new specialized or "leading edge" technology that provides competitive advantage; Responsible for managing and completing large complete system projects that may have a strategic platform impact
  • Provides technical assessments of situations within normal scope of influence. Recognized as subject matter expert within company. Able to assess continuation risk and quality of previous work on a project, in addition to identifying areas where improvements in business processes would lead to better results.
  • Leadership role in building departmental capabilities through mentoring and development of others
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge of CAD software; Excel Spreadsheet software and MS Word, Word Processing software

Education / Experience:
  • BS in applicable engineering field or other technical degree
  • 7+ years of experience in field or related experience
