Job description

Our Quality team is expanding and looking to add a Quality Engineer. We are looking for a dynamic and driven candidate who is interested in joining a fast-growing global company in the automotive sector.

The Quality Engineer will be responsible for fulfilling the role of manufacturing and quality expert; this is a hands-on position with customer interaction. Works closely with customers and other departments during process development and APQP for new products. Ensure the quality of the parts produced meets all customer expectations. Quickly and effectively take action when non-conformances are found. Maintain and improve quality management system to comply with established standards. Other duties includes:

  • Initiate and maintain customer interface and support
  • Create/Update all APQP documents including FMEA, Control Plans and Flow Diagrams.
  • Follow AIAG APQP procedures and Customer-specific requirements
  • PPAP submissions
  • Continuous improvement of plant scrap, process capability, and quality cost activities
  • Responsible for addressing customer concerns through corrective action activities, action plans, customer-specific reporting techniques, etc.
  • Maintain a quality management system to ensure compliance with all relevant standards and customer-specific requirements
  • Partner with production and engineering on quality-related issues
  • Creates quality reports and action plans for reporting to executive management as well as customers
  • Works closely with other Minth facilities to ensure read-across continuity of systems
  • Responsible for other duties or special projects as assigned

To be a qualified candidate you must meet the following:

  • 3+ Years of Manufacturing Quality experience
  • Strong engineering background
  • Knowledge of roll forming, bending, welding processes and testing requirements
  • Auditing certification for IATF16949, VDA, ISO14001 standards
  • Ability to read and interpret Blueprints / GD&T
  • AIAG Core Tools Training (APQP, PPAP, D/PFMEA, Control Plan, etc.)

Key to being successful in this role:

  • Strong team player with a natural ability to interact at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent verbal/written communication
  • Multilingual (Mandarin, Spanish, German) is a plus
  • Software: MS Office, Plex, Minitab, Project, Visio, AutoCAD
  • Must be able to travel to the customers' site (20-25%)
