Position Overview

Our customers invest in our platform because we deliver the best email security managed service in the industry.

The Manager, Security Solution Engineering leads a team of Security Solution Engineers responsible for backend engineering, platform configuration, and administration of our email security managed service offering. This role ensures our engineering team delivers reliable, scalable, and secure solutions that protect customers from evolving email-borne threats.

Continuous improvement is central to this position. A working knowledge of current threat actors, email security architectures, and platform administration best practices is essential to guide the team and drive engineering excellence across the service.

Location & Time Zone Preference

Candidates located in the Pacific or Mountain time zones are preferred , as this role includes leadership responsibilities for team members across the APJ (Asia Pacific & Japan) region and requires regular collaboration across global time zones to support business and team needs.

Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Talent Development

Lead, mentor, and coach a team of Security Solution Engineers; serve as a role model for professional growth, technical excellence, and engineering best practices.

Responsible for talent development—finding, hiring, developing, and retaining the best engineering talent in email security.

Assign MBOs (Management by Objectives) to team members aligned with corporate goals.

Provide tactical and strategic guidance to the team daily.

Identify and prioritize short-term and long-term engineering goals for the team.

Customer Advocacy & Service Delivery

Manage and monitor service delivery interactions, serving as an internal advocate for customers of the managed email security service.

Respond to customer escalations and proactively elevate technical issues when needed.

Monitor service health, SLA adherence, and customer satisfaction; serve as a point of escalation for service issues.

Provide remediation plans for customers at risk of non-renewal; manage the health of the customer portfolio through reliable engineering outcomes.

Strategic & Operational Oversight

Develop and oversee comprehensive engineering strategies to meet complex customer requirements across the email security platform.

Plan and lead process improvement and automation initiatives to improve service reliability and operational efficiency.

Develop innovative ways to leverage platform data, telemetry, and analytics to improve detection efficacy and service quality.

Plan, document, and identify risks and challenges for production changes that span multiple services and engineering disciplines.

Responsible for scheduling own time and quality completion of multiple tasks within a varying environment with competing priorities.

Technical Leadership & Platform Engineering

Maintain a deep understanding of the email security platform architecture, including backend systems, configuration frameworks, and integration points.

Design and implement solutions to complex engineering and platform administration problems with minimum supervision; use independent judgment to drive technical decisions.

Guide the team on best practices for platform configuration, policy management, and security hardening.

Base Pay Range: 166,500.00 - 244,200.00 USD

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Washington DC Metro, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Texas, Washington, Virginia, and Alaska:

Base Pay Range: 136,200.00 - 199,760.00 USD

All other cities and states excluding those listed above:

Base Pay Range: 124,100.00 - 182,050.00 USD
