Job description

Position Summary:

Penske Logistics is looking for delivery helpers that will assist delivery drivers in moving product from the back of a truck to our customerโ€™s location.

Pay - $19.87/hr

Specific Activity โ€“Helpers are responsible for delivering product to customers. Helper will unload at each stop, typically using a hand truck. May involve moving and rearranging freight at each stop. Helper must be able to handle moving approximately 300-400 pounds on a hand truck/dolly. Helpers are responsible for breaking down pallets and moving product into the store at multiple stops. Helpers are required to deliver frozen, cold/cooler and ambient product in each store. Some stores are open during delivery.

Shift(s) -Second Shift Position with start times of 12:30pm- 5pm. Shifts range from 8 hours to 16 hours, average day being 10 hours. End time depends on number of stops on each route. Average of 14-16 stops per night. Days will be discussed as this is a 24/7 operation, however, weekends and holidays are required. This is a full time 5 days week/ 2 consecutive days off.

Responsibilities:

โ€ข Assist CDL Drivers with store delivery

โ€ข Candidates must be able to lift/move up to 300lbs with a Dolly

โ€ข Will interact in a professional and courteous manner with customers

โ€ข Read bills of lading and identify product, collect necessary delivery receipts as necessary

โ€ข May assist in providing navigational assistance to the driver

Qualifications:

โ€ข Prior customer service experience, interacting directly with customers, preferred

โ€ข Prior warehouse or dock experience preferred

โ€ข Prior delivery assistance experience preferred

โ€ข High School Diploma or equivalent required

โ€ข Ability to work in multiple temperatures zones ranging from -10 to 120 degrees

โ€ข Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job

โ€ข Ability to work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.

This position is designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required. Associates must have the ability to accept responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others.
