Position Summary

We are seeking aSenior Engineering Program Managerto lead the development and deployment of power conversion systems integral to Nextpower's technology. This is a technical program leadership role for someone who can operate comfortably at the intersection of engineering depth and execution rigor.

The right candidate be a strong engineering program leader who will drive programs through execution while engaging deeply with electrical, firmware, mechanical, and systems teams; understand technical tradeoffs and risks; and cross-functional dependencies from concept through validation, certification, industrialization, and production ramp.

The ideal candidate brings both hands-on engineering experience in power electronics and a proven ability to manage programs across multi-site, international teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end planning and execution of engineering programs for power electronics systems, including DC-DC, DC-AC, inverter, and grid-connected solutions.
  • Partner closely with engineering leads to translate technical strategy, architecture, and requirements into executable plans with clear milestones, dependencies, and decision points.
  • Lead cross-functional planning and execution across engineering, product management, supply chain, operations, quality, and external partners.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into executable program plans, ensuring alignment on scope, risk, and deliverables.
  • Manage program schedules, budgets, and resources to meet performance, cost, and timeline objectives.
  • Facilitate design reviews (schematic, layout, thermal, EMI/EMC), validation testing, and regulatory certification activities.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to power electronics design, electrical performance, supply chain, and global manufacturing readiness.
  • Coordinate with international suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure successful product industrialization and ramp.
  • Establish and drive best practices for program management, engineering development processes, and cross-site collaboration.
  • Drive crisp cross-functional communication and decision-making across time zones, functions, and partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 8-12+ years of experience, including:
    • Direct experience in power electronics engineering (design, validation, or applications)
    • Engineering program management leadership of complex hardware systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead hardware development programs involving power conversion systems, from concept through production.
  • An understanding of power electronics fundamentals, including inverters, medium voltage transformers, control systems, and thermal considerations.
  • Proven experience working with international, cross-cultural engineering teams across multiple time zones.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage deeply with technical teams and influence stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills in fast-paced, matrixed environments.
  • Proficiency with program management tools (e.g., Jira, Jira Align, Confluence, or equivalent).

Pay is based on market location and may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education and other job-related reasons. The annual salary range for this position is 160,000.00 to 180,000.00 plus a commission structure based on commission calculation, such as percentage of sales or specific metrics.
