Caterpillar Inc. seeks PS & CD- Engine Performance Calibration Engineer at its facility located at 14009 Old Galena Rd, Bldg L, Chillicothe, IL 61523. Develop and manage calibration projects for dual-fuel engines to meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with NPI and NTI product teams to support concept evaluation, recipe selection, engine performance improvement efforts, and field data analysis for early issue detection and resolution. Develop engine test plans, perform complex analysis, and deliver technical reports. Provide technical support for engine performance and contribute to resolving product issues through the NPI and CPI processes. Support engine hardware recipe evaluation and software strategy development. Coordinate with emissions regulations and compliance teams regarding new software and program requests, including preparation of engine emissions certification documentation, data files, and AECD documents. Mentor a team of engine calibration engineers and communicate technical information to leadership and internal stakeholders. Focus on continuous improvement of processes, methods, and tools related to engine performance and validation. REQS: This position requires a bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field and 8 years of experience in engine performance and emissions calibration development or related occupation. In the alternative, employer will accept a master's degree or foreign equivalent Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field and 6 years of experience in engine performance and emissions calibration development or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Engine simulation and test analysis; (2) Engine performance, emission calibration development; and (3) Software tools including NI DIAdem, Canape, & MATLAB. Travel: None. Telecommuting: None.
Summary Pay Range:
$131,227.00 - $192,710.00
