Overview

We are seeking an experienced Transmission Line Lead Engineer to oversee the planning, design, coordination, and delivery of complex transmission line projects within our portfolio. In this leadership role, you will guide multidisciplinary engineering teams, ensure technical excellence, and drive the successful execution of all transmission line-related engineering activities from concept through construction.

Your role

  • Lead and review conceptual and detailed transmission line designs, including route selection, conductor selection, structure loading calculations, and optimum spotting.
  • Analyze project scope, technical studies, and design basis documents to ensure alignment with client requirements and quality management systems.
  • Prepare key engineering deliverables such as Scopes of Work (survey, staking, construction), reports, specifications, and Design Requirement Drawings.
  • Select materials and equipment and develop detailed specifications for procurement, construction, and installation activities.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary design activities, provide construction-phase support, resolve site queries, and conduct site inspections.
  • Supervise and mentor engineers, technicians, and designers, including reviewing calculations, drawings, and external/internal design submissions for accuracy and code compliance.
  • Maintain strong technical knowledge to integrate appropriate technologies and ensure highquality, constructible engineering solutions.
  • Manage documentation and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams, clients, suppliers, and project stakeholders.

About you

  • A degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil/Structural Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • P.Eng. registration or Equivalent required.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in Transmission and Distribution lines design.
  • Knowledge of PLS CADD, PLS TOWER and PLS POLE software essential.
  • Demonstrate initiative, team spirit and independence.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken), French as a second language will be an asset.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of professionals at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Additional information

Expected compensation for this role is between $125,000 - $171,900 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
