Help shape the future of utility and industrial infrastructure through advanced SCADA, automation, communications, and digital substation technologies. As a Senior SCADA Engineer based in Edmonton, Alberta, you'll contribute to complex projects that support reliable, efficient, and secure power systems while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and clients across a diverse project portfolio. 


Your Impact

  • Lead the design and integration of SCADA, automation, communications, and control systems for utility and industrial clients. 
  • Develop communication architectures, network designs, and technical specifications that enhance reliability and cybersecurity. 
  • Deliver IEC 61850 digital substation solutions and support modern grid infrastructure initiatives. 
  • Configure and commission RTUs, IEDs, PLCs, HMIs, and associated automation platforms
  • Support project execution through technical documentation, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities. 
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, vendors, and internal disciplines to achieve successful project outcomes. 
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical excellence, best practices, proposals, and estimates. 
  • Advance resilient and sustainable energy systems through innovative engineering solutions. 

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering. 
  • Professional Engineer designation in Canada, or eligibility for registration. 
  • 8+ years of experience in SCADA, automation, communications, protection and control environments. 
  • Strong expertise with IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, OPC/OPC UA, and related communication protocols. 
  • Experience with RTACs, HMIs, networked control systems, and substation integration projects. [Senior 
  • Knowledge of operational technology (OT) cybersecurity principles and secure communications networks. 
  • Demonstrated success leading technical discussions, mentoring team members, and delivering client-focused solutions. 

Willingness to travel occasionally and work safely in utility, substation, and industrial environments.

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $107,800-$144,900

MB & ON: $98,400- $137,400
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $97,400 - $131,200
