Job description

As Scout's Capital Markets Senior Manager, you will play an integral role in capital raising activities for our growing portfolio of utility-scale wind, solar, and energy storage projects. We expect a high volume of transactions and are expanding the team to support that growth.

In this position, you will play a key role in project finance, corporate finance, and capital recycling transactions. Your work will include a combination of engagement with capital providers (debt, tax equity, and equity), transaction development and execution, and collaborationwithteamsacrosstheorganization.Yourdeal-orientedmindsetwillenableyouto craftoptimalcapital solutions,identifyand manage diligence risks, and efficiently drive transactions to close - all while integrating the Scout Values in the way you work and relate toothers. 

Keydutiesin yourrolewill includethefollowing: 

  • Owntransactionsacrosstheinvestmentlifecycle-fromoriginationtoduediligence, definitive documentation, and deal closing. 
  • Developcompellingtransactionmarketingmaterialsfordistributiontoprospective lenders and investors. 
  • Analyzeandnegotiatetermsheetsandproposalstosupportrecommendationsforoptimalfinancing structures to senior management. 
  • Overseetransactionmodelsfordebt,taxequity, andotherequityprocesses. 
  • Overseetransactionduediligenceandinterfacewithexternalfinancingpartiesandconsultants. 
  • Developandmanagerelationshipswithexternalcounsel,advisors,andprovidersofdebt, tax equity, and equity capital tooptimizeour project financings. 
  • Driveon-timeconclusionofapprovalandclosingprocessesbycoordinatingwithinternal and external stakeholders. 
  • Completeotherdutiesasassigned. 

You will report to the Director of Capital Markets. You will be a tight-knit and efficient group that collaborates effectively to execute transactions. Our team's work style requires both collaborative and independent work at all levels; the Senior Manager wouldengageinacombinationofdoingworkindependentlyandoverseeingtheworkofothers, growing into a manager for junior associates. 

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics or a related field. 
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in renewables investment banking and/or the renewable energy industry, with a focus on tax equity and debt structures. Experience in utility-scale renewable energy finance (> 80 MW per project) is preferred. 
  • Experience in closing renewables capital markets transactions (tax equity, project debt, corporate debt, M&A). 
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (including VBA), Word, and PowerPoint. 
  • Independent learner who can quickly apply lessons learned in one area to all other work areas. 
  • Self-motivator with exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills. 
  • Ability to prioritize and deliver top-quality work product in multiple areas without direct supervision. 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • High emotional IQ - strong interpersonal skills with the desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and to meet deadlines and complete time-sensitive duties. 
  • Authorized to work in the United States. (This position is not eligible for sponsorship.)

Benefits

Target base salary: $130,000-$175,000. Negotiable for the right candidate.
