Position Summary:

As an energy engineer you will be apart of the engineering team that is responsible for identifying and implementing energy efficiency projects and providing technical support to customers and contractors. In this role, the engineer will provide energy advice and coordination services for energy efficiency programs; these services may include building maintenance, lighting, controls, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems for energy efficiency and comfort.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Embrace and operate within the core values.
  • Work with business and building owners, developers, architects, engineers, and contractors to provide energy efficiency advice and assistance in participating in energy efficiency or energy conservation programs.
  • Knowledge of technical elements of energy-consuming equipment in a facility (lighting (LED, Fluorescent, HID), HVAC system, hot water systems, compressed air System building envelope, refrigeration, integrated design) and how it affects utility consumption and demand, to help build a business case to prioritize recommendations and how they affect savings and first cost.
  • Evaluate and process energy efficiency projects and review electrical, mechanical, and architectural plans and calculations.
  • Enter project data into the databases to determine energy savings and how those savings align with current projects.
  • Ensure compliance with all quality and safety policies
  • Maintains knowledge of current technologies and systems and alternative energy options, especially related to construction and design. Evaluate new technologies through relationships with manufacturers
  • Uses engineering software to create, analyze, or interpret graphical representations of energy data and information.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Technical Science(s), or similar four (4) year degree
  • 1 to 2 years' experience in energy or process-related engineering
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Excel
  • Must be able to complete technical and financial analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • CMVP (Certified Measurement and Verification Professional)

Travel Requirements:

  • Minimum travel (less than 5%)

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Required to sit, stand, walk; talk and hear; and ability to touch and handle tools and/or controls.
  • The team member is frequently required to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Noise level is typically low to moderate.
