Job description

Overview
The Individual is responsible for inspections and tests of product, process, and material for all product areas. Provide guidance and partner with production personnel (supervisors and operators) to contain an issue, determine root cause, and corrective actions. Follow up on customer complaints, including warranty returns that pertain to their shift and departments. Comply with Stryten Energy and IATF 16949 procedures and requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Perform quality audits and inspections per the Control Plan
  • Contain issues using Hold Tags, communication to the production teams and immediate supervision
  • Monitor data collection in our current SPC systems by the Control Plan
  • Monitor operator and quality control plan compliance daily.
  • Provide day-to-day quality direction and support to manufacturing in the form of procedures, and guidance.
  • Be available to work flexible shifts to ensure support and proper coverage is available.
  • Responsible for Hold Tag management - reporting of status and monitoring that product is dispositioned within the guidelines of Stryten Energy procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain quality workstations on the shop floor - daily validation that gauges and data entry systems are in good working order
  • Responsible for ensuring that the respective department equipment used for in-process testing (checks) is within calibration and conform to standard requirements (good working order).
  • Participate in supplied part and internal part periodic sampling plan. Work with direct supervisor that all parts are picked and labeled for traceability
  • Audit operators for proper testing techniques
  • Work with the team on problem solving initiatives and link actions and outcomes to Control Plans, PFMEA's, plant inspection points, and Customer returns.
  • Assist in communication with any changes or replacement of work instructions.
  • Participate with teams for corrective action resolution on internal KPI's and external customer issues (assembly plant complaint and warranty initiatives).
  • Work within established policies, procedures, practices, and regulations.
  • Assist with training of all new employees and refresher training when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE:
  • Understand basic math and statistics
  • Demonstrate leadership skills
  • Familiar with problem solving - root cause analysis, 5 why, etc.
  • Must be quality and customer oriented
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team-oriented environment on multiple projects
  • Strong verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate basic computer skills -Windows-based programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Qualifications
Requirements:
  • Standing, sitting, walking, bending, twisting and lifting.
  • Must be able to lift heavy objects and assist in moving machinery/tooling to and from production floor safely.
  • Must be able to work in high places, deep pits, and be able to work in any weather conditions to support projects.
  • Analytical skills for evaluating information carefully and solving complex problems.

Equipment Used:
  • Various hand and power tools, scales, calibration tools, and testing equipment.
  • Computers and various machine interface screens.
  • Maintenance management programs and I-Pad usage via the Leading to Lean software platform
