Job description

IT Engineer - IE08AE
We're determined to make a difference and are proud to be an insurance company that goes well beyond coverages and policies. Working here means having every opportunity to achieve your goals - and to help others accomplish theirs, too. Join our team as we help shape the future.
The Workplace Solutions organization is seeking an IT Engineer to join our team and help drive the modernization of our macOS endpoint estate, Apple device management platform, and endpoint automation capabilities. This role will play a critical part in advancing JAMF Pro, accelerating zero-touch device delivery, and enabling a secure, cloud-first, and future-ready Mac experience across the enterprise.
You will have the opportunity to leverage your expertise in JAMF Pro, macOS engineering, Declarative Device Management (DDM), cloud identity (Microsoft Entra), and endpoint automation while working across the full device lifecycle. We embrace Agile ways of working and are passionate about building secure, scalable, resilient, and well-managed solutions that deliver business value. We are looking for engineers who are curious, adaptable, and passionate about continuous learning. As AI continues to transform infrastructure engineering and operations, we encourage our team members to responsibly explore and leverage AI-powered tools and emerging technologies that enhance productivity, improve quality, accelerate delivery, and create better outcomes for our customers and business partners.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, build, configure, and support JAMF Pro services, including configuration profiles, Declarative Device Management (DDM) blueprints, and policy management in cloud-managed environments.
  • Develop and manage zero-touch provisioning using Apple Automated Device Enrollment (ADE) and Apple Business Manager.
  • Automate device builds, patching, software deployment, and lifecycle management to improve reliability and reduce manual effort.
  • Implement endpoint monitoring, logging, alerting, and compliance reporting using JAMF, Nexthink, and related tools.
  • Support the transition from legacy smartcard and certificate authentication to modern cloud identity solutions, including Microsoft Entra, passwordless authentication, and Conditional Access.
  • Partner with engineering and operations teams to enhance deployment automation, release processes, and operational readiness.
  • Troubleshoot complex endpoint, deployment, and performance issues across U.S. and India environments; perform root-cause analysis and drive long-term resolutions.
  • Collaborate with security teams to implement endpoint security and compliance controls, including CIS benchmarks, FileVault encryption, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Develop and support APIs and integrations between JAMF, ServiceNow, Microsoft Entra, reporting platforms, and other enterprise systems while adhering to data governance and privacy standards.
  • Mentor engineers on JAMF, macOS, and automation best practices and serve as a subject matter expert.
  • Evaluate and leverage AI-assisted engineering tools, automation technologies, and emerging capabilities to improve productivity, quality, operational efficiency, and delivery outcomes.
  • Promote a continuous learning culture by identifying, testing, and implementing innovative AI-enabled and automation-driven solutions.
  • Contribute best practices for integrating AI, automation, and intelligent tooling throughout the endpoint engineering and operations lifecycle.

What's In It For You
Opportunity to modernize an enterprise Apple estate and shape a cloud-first, zero-touch management model.
Exposure to emerging endpoint, automation, cloud identity, and AI-enabled operations technologies.
Ability to influence enterprise endpoint engineering practices and operational excellence initiatives.
Experience working in a fast-paced Agile environment delivering strategic business capabilities.
Opportunity to enhance architecture, automation, and operational excellence skills.
Collaborative culture that promotes continuous learning, innovation, and career growth.
Opportunity to drive measurable improvements in device reliability, security posture, and end-user experience.
This role will have a Hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in an office (Hartford, CT) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).
Required Experience
  • Demonstrated experience administering and engineering JAMF Pro at enterprise scale.
  • Strong macOS internals knowledge, including MDM/DDM, configuration profiles, Apple Business/ADE, FileVault, and Keychain.
  • Experience with zero-touch provisioning and endpoint lifecycle automation.
  • Experience with scripting and automation using bash/zsh, Python, or similar languages.
  • Experience with source control and repository management using Git.
  • Foundational understanding of cloud identity and platforms (Microsoft Entra, Azure), Conditional Access, and password-less concepts.
  • Experience with endpoint monitoring, reporting, and compliance tooling.
  • Experience implementing endpoint security controls (CIS, encryption, patch hygiene, vulnerability remediation).
  • Experience working within Agile delivery frameworks.
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn, experiment with, and adopt emerging technologies, including AI-powered development, automation, and operational tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a continuous-improvement mindset and the ability to evaluate new technologies to drive engineering efficiency and business value.

Preferred Qualifications
  • JAMF Certified Admin, JAMF 300, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with multi-region operations (US + India) and cross-time-zone delivery.
  • Experience integrating JAMF with ServiceNow, Nexthink, or enterprise reporting platforms.
  • Knowledge of endpoint compliance frameworks and audit/evidence practices in a regulated environment.
  • Experience with AI-powered engineering productivity and operational tooling (e.g., Copilot, Copilot Studio, AIOps platforms).
