About the RoleWe're looking for a Software Engineer to join our engineering team at Yuma. You'll help design and scale the core systems that underpin our decentralized AI infrastructure and related products - from high-performance data pipelines to API services.
Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
- Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams - including data, product, and infrastructure - to deliver high-quality features and systems.
- Ensure software reliability through automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and observability best practices.
- Deploy and manage services in cloud environments
- Optimize system performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Participate in code reviews, contribute to technical discussions, and help evolve our engineering culture and practices.
- Support deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting of live systems
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 3-8 years of professional experience as a backend engineer.
- Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, Java, JavaScript, Rust or Go)
- Solid understanding of APIs, databases, and backend architecture.
- Experience deploying, monitoring, and scaling applications in cloud environments (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and automated testing frameworks.
- Understanding of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Working knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Familiarity with blockchain or decentralized technologies, Polkadot, Parity, Substrate preferred)
- Experience with AI/ML integrations or data-intensive systems
- Exposure to containerization/orchestration tools such as Docker or Kubernetes
