Role Description
SMBC is seeking a highly skilled and motivated VP, Infrastructure Solutions Architect to join our Architecture and Engineering organization. The person in this role will lead the architectural design, strategy, and implementation of our End-User Computing (EUC) and Modern Workplace solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise across a variety of EUC technologies such as Citrix, FS Logix, Nutanix, Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows 365, and the M365 ecosystem and will play a key role in shaping the future direction of our digital workspace strategy.
Role Objectives
Member of a team that establishes and drives infrastructure architecture standards with a focus on End-User Computing and Modern Workplace technologies in a global, hybrid, multi-cloud environment.
Work collaboratively to drive SMBC's strategic direction for enterprise-grade, scalable, secure, and high-performing Modern Workplace solutions.
Lead the strategic direction and lifecycle management of our multiple Citrix environments, including both application and desktop solutions.
Design and deploy hybrid and cloud-based desktop solution strategies utilizing platforms such as Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows 365, Citrix, and Nutanix VDI.
Cross-functional collaboration with Infrastructure, Security, and Application teams to ensure seamless integration and compliance while providing technical leadership and streamlined hand-off to Operational and Support groups.
Develop deployment, performance tuning, capacity planning, and disaster recovery strategies across our various EUC platforms.
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies surrounding EUC and Modern Workplace technologies.
Participant in the Enterprise Architecture path-to-production review and design processes, providing domain-specific architectural guidance and approvals through the application onboarding process.
Qualifications and Skills
10+ years of Solutions Architecture and/or senior level Infrastructure Engineering experience in EUC platforms and infrastructure.
Strong, hands-on expertise in a variety of EUC solutions including Citrix virtual applications and desktops, FS Logix profile containers, Nutanix, Azure Virtual Desktop, and Windows 365.
Proven experience with Microsoft on-prem and cloud ecosystems including Active Directory, Entra ID, Group Policy, M365, Intune, and Autopilot as well as general networking and cloud services fundamentals.
Knowledgeable of remote access technologies and policy infrastructure such as AOVPN, Zscaler, Palo Alto, MDM/MAM solutions, and Conditional Access.
Familiarity with monitoring and management tools for EUC environments such as Nerdio, SCCM, Logic Monitor, and Tanium.
Demonstrated ability to define architecture standards, develop target-state designs, and provide implementation roadmaps for a variety of enterprise platforms.
Experience translating business and technical requirements into scalable, resilient, and supportable infrastructure solutions.
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and senior leadership on architecture strategy, design decisions, and implementation considerations.
Experience in highly regulated and global environments with strong governance, compliance, and operational control expectations.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and documentation skills.
