Job description

Position:  Junior System Administrator, Tier-3 Level Support Services.

Location:  San Antonio, TX (On-Site.)

Clearance:  U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain a Public Trust.

Summary:  This contract will provide 24/7/365 operations support to the customer.  Applicant must be able and willing to work on-call, shift, or surge if required.  Must be flexible and able to travel when necessary.  Will need a Real ID and current passport. 

Work arrangement:  This position will require on-site occupancy at or near the Ft Sam Houston location. Core hours are 6:00am – 6:00pm; exception being shift-work (surge) or on-call staff.  Telework may be considered on a position-by-position bases with approval by the customer.

We are currently seeking a Junior Systems Administrator – Tier-3 Level to support upcoming work located in San Antonio, TX.

Responsibilities:

Entry-level understanding, needs guidance or supervision on most tasks below:

  • Analyze, validate, implement, maintain, and configure current services and tools (examples include Active Directory (AD), System Center Operations Manager, Quest, Dell Quest maintenance tools.)
  • Support and maintain Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) architecture to provide authentication, synchronization, user provisioning, and authorization services.
  • Validate data encryption services on desktops and laptops for adherence with Customer- and DoD regulations and policies; support deployment and maintenance approved data encryption solutions.
  • Manage and monitor Data Encryption services to ensure systems and all supported devices are updated; create, deploy, upgrade, and install data encryption client packages, files, and policies in accordance with maintenance window policies. 
  • Support the Tier 3 Enterprise Operations mission. Validate Microsoft Intune (Cloud) and Microsoft BitLocker (On-Prem) solutions on desktops and laptops for adherence with Customer and DoD regulations and policies.
  • Manage and monitor Intune and BitLocker services to ensure systems and all supported devices are updated; create, deploy, upgrade, and install DAR data encryption client packages, files, and policies in accordance with maintenance window policies.
  • Design and test capability enhancements for use in MED365.  Work with the Project Office/Lead to collect and prioritize enhanced or new features for use in MED365.
  • Configure the Cloud Service Offering (CSO) to support user data retention, documentation-marking, redactions, policies, controls, and deduplication of files. Validate current processes and conduct testing / validation of implementation.
  • Processes tickets received from the Tier II support desk to resolution.  Escalation point from Tier II.  Elevate appropriate tickets to Tier IV for resolution.  Support the resolution of and monitor tickets with product vendors in support of the MED365 capability.
  • Develop plans and strategic communications for announcing capability enhancements and schedule that reflect Contractor planned releases to the capabilities being released into IL5.Using MS SCOM, monitor system uptime availability and maintain the framework for new and existing applications, servers, and services that require monitoring at the enterprise level. 
  • Analyze Customer current enterprise system monitoring implementation and provide a status report before and after remediation actions engineered and executed.  Customize enterprise monitoring rules, alerting, and reporting functions for applicable Customer applications and servers, and produce reports depicting the performance indicators for these applications and servers, such as “uptime” and “downtime.”
  • Maintain disaster recovery capability and procedures and ensure all enterprise monitoring servers are compliant to the latest appropriate DISA STIGs.
  • Implement digital signature and encryption requirements specified in DoDI 8520.02, “Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and Public Key (PK) Enabling.”  Manage, and maintain Public Key Encryption (PKE) and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) in a Windows environment for compliance. 
  • Develop, validate, and document Disaster Recovery (DR) procedures for all supported device types within the enterprise.  Produce/update checklists, guides and/or standard operating procedures for enterprise monitoring and preventative maintenance.  As necessary, prepare After Action Reports.

Requirement

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and obtain and maintain Public Trust.
  • Must successfully complete a government issued background investigation.
  • Must be flexible to travel when needed.  Must have Real ID, and ability to obtain a U.S. Passport.

Education:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience with a BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering Management or related discipline OR in lieu of a technical degree, must have BA/BS degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering Management or related discipline OR
  • AA/AS degree or high school diploma with 6 years of experience in Information Technology or a related field.

Required Certifications: Applicants will be required to have:  **incumbents have 6 months to obtain

  • CompTIA Security+ (DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II Baseline)
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
