Job description

Recovery Coach (562) *Sign-On Bonus Take advantage of our new sign-on bonus! Center For Family Services is a place where you can be part of a dynamic, top workplace team dedicated to improving lives. When you apply and get hired, you are eligible for a $250 sign-on bonus. Location: Voorhees, NJ Job Type/Status: Part-time, evening required (28 hours per week) Salary: $19 per hour Position Summary The Peer Recovery Support Specialist (CPRS) leverages their lived experience with substance use recovery or as a family member affected by substance use to support and empower members. The Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) offers hope and practical support through engagement, advocacy, service linkage, and role modeling to help individuals achieve recovery. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Completes documentation and other reporting requirements
  • Meets regularly with supervisor and participates in other professional development opportunities.
  • Contributes on agency committees and special tasks and promotes a sense of agency with co-workers and staff and communicates in ways that support agency mission and values.
  • Assist Senior Peer Services Coordinator with planning, implementing, and supervising the events, activities, and services that support the mission of the CPRC.
  • Assist individuals to improve their health and wellness, live a self-directed life, and reach their full potential.
  • Provide services to ensure that individuals are both informed about and able to access the full range of medical and treatment opportunities or other support services, such as legal, financial, educational, vocational, or employment counseling, that may be available to them at the time the individual chooses to use them.
  • Use engagement skills to motivate and encourage individuals to voluntarily access services that would assist them in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
  • Assist members in developing a service plan that identifies needed skills and services. 9. Assist members in developing and carrying out their service plans by assisting them in accessing needed resources through recovery coaching including, but not limited to, assistance with phone and online communication, and face to face appointments. 10. Assist Outreach Coordinator and volunteers, as needed. Including but not limited to, routine office tasks, including answering telephones, front desk coverage, photocopying materials for the CPRC as necessary.
  • Assist recovery center members by providing educational workshops that address the needs of the community.
  • Responsible for other duties as assigned by the Senior Peer Services Coordinator, Program Coordinator, or Program Director when needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required (Bachelor's degree preferred).
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Two years of Personal Recovery.
  • Basic computer literacy required. Competency in the utilization of Electronic Health Records preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license and be willing to drive and transport clients in agency vehicle. This position is an essential driving position.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening, agency motor vehicle background check, and criminal history background check.
  • Holds an active CPRS certificate, or will obtain CPRS certification within 6 months of hire date.
