Emergency Room Nurse Job Description
  • Deliver Acute Patient Care:
    • Provide expert care to patients in emergency situations, managing a wide range of medical conditions, from trauma to acute illness.
  • Monitor Patient Condition:
    • Continuously assess and document vital signs, administer medications and treatments, and respond rapidly to changes in patient conditions.
  • Collaborate with a Multidisciplinary Team:
    • Work alongside physicians, paramedics, and other healthcare professionals within the emergency room to stabilize and treat patients effectively.
  • Educate & Support Patients and Families:
    • Communicate clearly with patients and families, providing education about diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
  • Ensure Readiness of Emergency Equipment:
    • Assist in preparing and maintaining emergency equipment and supplies to ensure a safe and efficient environment.
Requirements
  • Licensure & Certifications:
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in MN.
    • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; TNCC preferred.
  • Skills & Experience:
    • Previous experience in an emergency room or critical care setting is preferred. New grads encouraged to apply.
    • Strong critical thinking and rapid decision-making abilities under pressure.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients in a high-stress environment.
