The Employee Relations Manager leads and develops a team of Employee Relations Specialists and Investigators, partnering closely with Human Resources Business Partners and organizational leaders to address employee relations matters in a fair, compliant, and timely manner. This role serves as a subject matter expert in employee relations, workplace investigations, and employment law, helping to mitigate risk, strengthen workplace culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote consistent application of policies and practices across the health system.
As an Employee Relations Manager, a typical day might include:
- Supervising, coaching, and supporting Employee Relations Specialists and Investigators.
- Conducting and overseeing complex workplace investigations and documenting findings and recommendations within HR Acuity.
- Partnering with HR leaders and business stakeholders to resolve employee relations concerns and identify proactive solutions.
- Maintaining a visible presence across assigned locations through rounding, relationship-building, and trend analysis.
- Developing and implementing employee relations programs and initiatives that support engagement, compliance, and organizational culture.
- Delivering training on workplace policies, harassment prevention, employee conduct, and other employee relations topics.
- Participating in workforce restructuring and Reduction in Force (RIF) reviews to ensure compliance with applicable employment laws.
- Monitoring trends, identifying risks, and recommending strategies to improve workplace practices and employee experiences.
- Supporting leadership in navigating sensitive employee matters with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
- Collaborating with HR and legal partners to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment regulations.

To be considered for this opportunity:
You must have a bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field; a master's degree is preferred. Candidates should possess five to seven years of Human Resources experience, including at least two years conducting complex workplace investigations. Prior leadership or supervisory experience is preferred. Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, employee relations processes, and case management systems such as HR Acuity is required. Professional certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR are preferred.
