FLIK is seeking a dynamic HR Specialist to join the leadership team at our brand-new United Airlines lounge at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH). This is a full-time, on-site position at IAH — and yes, parking is covered!

About the Role

As HR Specialist, you'll be a critical partner to senior F&B Operations and HR leadership, supporting 160+ employees in a gorgeous, newly launched lounge environment. You'll own the people practices that keep our team engaged, informed, and set up for success — from the moment a candidate applies through every milestone of their journey with us.

What You'll Do

  • Drive Recruitment: Serve as the initial owner of the hourly recruitment process, including screening, on-site interviews, and airport badging administration.
  • Power Onboarding: Prepare and process hiring paperwork, post open roles, review applications, and conduct new employee onboarding.
  • Champion Employee Relations: Counsel managers and supervisors on employee relations policies and best practices, and work directly with employees to resolve sensitive workplace concerns.
  • Partner on Labor Relations: Maintain timely, proactive communication with our union partner alongside leadership.
  • Guide Performance & Compensation: Support supervisors in developing job descriptions, communicating benefits, and navigating compensation programs, performance reviews, and personnel policies.
  • Administer Core HR Programs: Manage policies across recruitment, separation, disability/leave, benefits, classification, and training.
  • Protect Confidentiality: Handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion while collaborating effectively across client groups.
 
Key Qualifications

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree / Food & Beverage/Hospitality industry HR experience preferred
  • PHR or SPHR certification a plus
  • 3+ years of HR generalist experience; experience working with a unionized staff strongly preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of HR practices, employment law, salary administration, and training.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proven ability to navigate sensitive or volatile situations with tact and professionalism.
  • Skill in juggling competing priorities with sound judgment and political acumen.
  • A collaborative, team-first mindset paired with the ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated success executing people-centric best practices & policies that support the overall operation
