Job Summary:

The Employee Relations & Marketing Manager is a key leadership position responsible for supporting the employee experience throughout the full employment lifecycle while also leading and coordinating the companyโ€™s marketing initiatives. This position serves as a primary resource for employees and managers, helping ensure consistent communication, effective people practices, strong onboarding and training, employee development, and a positive company culture.


In addition, this role oversees overall marketing coordination, partnering closely with company leadership, sales, operational teams, and outside marketing partners to ensure marketing efforts support company goals, brand, employees, customers, and communities. This is a highly collaborative, handsโ€‘on leadership role requiring strong communication, organization, judgment, follow-through, and the ability to build trusted relationships throughout the organization.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a trusted, approachable resource for employees and managers regarding workplace questions, concerns, communication, and employee relations matters

  • Partner with leadership to promote a positive, professional, accountable, and employeeโ€‘focused workplace culture.

  • Support managers in addressing employee performance, communication, attendance, development, and workplace concerns consistently.

  • Assist with employee recognition, engagement, retention, and company culture initiatives.

  • Help develop and maintain company policies, procedures, employee communications, and consistent employment practices.

  • Coordinate with leadership and outside resources when specialized HR, legal, benefits, or compliance expertise is required.


Performance Reviews & Compensation:

  • Manage a consistent annual performance review process, calendar, and standardized self/manager review templates.

  • Provide managers with guidance and training regarding effective performance reviews and employee feedback.

  • Partner with leadership to evaluate compensation adjustments, promotions, performance increases, and compensation planning based on internal equity and budget needs.

  • Partner with managers to identify staffing needs, coordinate job postings, screen candidates, and participate in interviews.

  • Maintain a consistent, professional candidate experience throughout the hiring process, including preโ€‘employment checks and offer letters.

  • Develop and oversee a consistent companyโ€‘wide onboarding program, partnering with department leaders to create roleโ€‘specific onboarding plans, SOPs, and training materials


Training & Compliance:

  • Develop and maintain training resources (including videos and electronic tools) and track required safety, compliance, certification, and license renewal dates.

  • Coordinate annual benefits open enrollment and assist employees with enrollment, qualifying events, and benefit questions.

  • Track and maintain employee records associated with company vehicles and assigned resources (driver's licenses, authorizations, and insurance).

  • Coordinate structured offboarding processes, exit interviews, and return of company property.

  • Lead overall marketing initiatives and serve as the primary point of contact with outside marketing partners and vendors.

  • Align marketing efforts with sales goals, maintain a company marketing calendar, and oversee social media, digital advertising, local events, and brand campaigns.

  • Track marketing initiatives to evaluate effectiveness, opportunities, and return on investment.

  • Develop and distribute a weekly employee newsletter to maintain open communication and connection across all company locations.


Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in employee relations, leadership, recruiting, operations, people management, marketing, or communications.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and effectively communicate with employees at all levels.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and projectโ€‘management abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, locations, and initiatives simultaneously.

  • Sound judgment, discretion, professionalism, and a strict commitment to confidentiality.

  • Proficiency with common business technology and the ability to learn HR, training, communication, and marketing software.

  • HR certification is not required, but relevant professional development is encouraged as the position grows.
