About the Role


A growing insurance agency is hiring an experienced Employee Benefits Account Manager to manage a book of small to mid-sized group clients (2–500 lives). This role focuses on client service, renewals, open enrollment, and benefits strategy, working closely with Producers and carrier partners.

If you have experience in group health insurance, benefits administration, and client relationship management, this is a high-impact opportunity with strong growth potential.


Key Responsibilities


  • Manage a book of business for employee benefits clients (2–500 lives)
  • Lead and coordinate renewals, open enrollments, and benefit implementations
  • Prepare and manage RFPs, marketing submissions, and carrier negotiations
  • Support Producers in client meetings, presentations, and strategy discussions
  • Provide day-to-day client service including:
  • Enrollment changes
  • Claims resolution
  • Billing and eligibility support
  • Build and maintain relationships with carriers, underwriters, and vendor partners
  • Maintain client data in agency management systems & benefits administration platforms
  • Stay current on health insurance trends, compliance, and carrier products


Required Experience & Skills


  • 3–5+ years of Employee Benefits / Group Health Insurance experience
  • Background working at an insurance agency, carrier, TPA, or benefits consulting firm
  • Experience with:
  • Renewals & Open Enrollment
  • RFPs and Proposal Development
  • Client Account Management
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability (Ancillary Products)
  • HSA, FSA, HRA plans
  • COBRA, ERISA, and DOL regulations
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools
  • Active Tennessee Life & Health License (Required)
