Employee Benefits Coordinator

Location: Denver, CO (in office)

Salary: Commensurate with experience

 

We are a growing independent health insurance brokerage based in Denver, CO, dedicated to helping employers build and manage competitive employee benefits programs. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service, personalized guidance, and long-term relationships with our clients.


We are seeking a highly organized, client-focused Employee Benefits Coordinator to join our Employee Benefits team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving problems, and takes pride in providing outstanding support to employer clients and their employees.


Reporting to the Vice President of Employee Benefits, you will help manage a portfolio of approximately 100 employer groups ranging from 2 to 200 employees, while serving as a trusted resource for benefit administration and employee support. If you enjoy being the goโ€‘to person for insurance clarity, this role puts you right at the heart of our client support operations.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

CLIENT SUPPORT

-         Respond to employer and employee benefit inquiries about eligibility, coverage, billing, and claims issues

-         Assist with employee onboarding and benefits education

-         Ensure timely and professional communication with clients and employees

-         Assist clients and employees with benefit enrollments, terminations, and policy changes to provide high-quality client service and retention support


BENEFITS ADMINISTRATION

-         Process enrollments, terminations, life events, and policy changes

-         Maintain accurate records within benefits administration systems such as Employee Navigator, Ease, etc.

-         Coordinate with insurance carriers to resolve service issues and advocate on behalf of clients


RENEWAL & OPEN ENROLLMENT SUPPORT

-         Assist with pre-renewal activity, including pulling and saving renewals, census formatting, preparation of quoting engines, quote requests, post enrollment bill audits, enrollment submissions, and other tasks as assigned

-         Responsible for the support and administration of enrollment processing, renewal & new business onboarding support, employee communications, and benefits education materials

-         Oversee the administration and enrollment functions for various client accounts to ensure the timely and effective processing of all relevant employee benefits administrative needs

-         Familiarity with major carrier portals (Anthem, UHC, Cigna, Aetna) for verification and submissions

 

COMPLIANCE & OPERATIONS

-         Monitor compliance-related requirements and assist with ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and other regulatory processes


QUALIFICATIONS:

-         2+ years of experience in employee benefits, insurance administration, or related field

-         Knowledge of group health insurance products and benefits terminology

-         Strong customer service and communication skills

-         Ability to manage multiple client accounts and deadlines effectively

-         Colorado insurance license preferred or willingness to obtain licensure within the first 90 days

-         Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate complex benefit issues with attention to detail

-         Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Outlook, and Word

-         Compensation commensurate with experience, with a salary range of $48,000 - $60,000
