Job description

Outreach Coordinator 
Location: Mt. Olivet Funeral Home Central Denver – Denver, CO 
The Outreach Coordinator is part of the Mission Advancement Team to work closely with the Assistant Director, to serve as the primary relational bridge between the ministry and local parish staff, clergy, the lay faithful, and the broader community. This role builds and maintains strong relationships with parish leadership and staff, promotes the organization's mission and services, and coordinates parish-based outreach, education, and events.
As our Outreach Coordinator, you will support the Mission Advancement team's broader work — assisting with outreach planning, event coordination, scheduling, and follow-up — while helping increase awareness of the organization's mission, programs, and pastoral services throughout the Archdiocese of Denver community.

Mt. Olivet Cemetery was consecrated in 1892 and is located on the western side of the Denver Metro area in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.  It is the largest cemetery in Colorado containing 392 acres.  St. Simeon Cemetery was consecrated in 2004 and is located on the eastern side of the Denver Metro area in Aurora, Colorado. The Mortuary has two locations. The first is located on the grounds of Mt. Olivet Cemetery and was opened in 1981.  The second was the recent acquisition of Caldwell-Kirk Mortuary.  These entities serve the Catholic Community of the Denver metro area and its various parishes, missions, and apostolates and other members of the public regardless of their religious affiliation.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a visible ambassador of the organization's mission and values
  • Develop and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with priests, deacons, staff, and ministry leaders, lay faithful, and the greater community of the Archdiocese of Denver
  • Serve as a primary point of contact between assigned parishes/community groups/ministries and the Mission Advancement team
  • Represent the organization at meetings, events, and ministry gatherings as appropriate
  • Promote awareness of the organization's mission, services, and pastoral programs to communities
  • Assist various Catholic communities in understanding available resources related to Catholic funeral, cemetery, and bereavement ministry
  • Support educational initiatives that help individuals understand Catholic teaching and practices related to death, burial, and remembrance
  • Coordinate with parish and other groups to schedule, plan, and support events, including presentations, conferences, information sessions, and outreach opportunities
  • Assist with event logistics, communication, registration tracking, and follow-up
  • Work collaboratively with internal team members to ensure events are well-supported and mission-aligned
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of mission advancement efforts
  • Model professionalism, hospitality, compassion, and respect in all interactions with clergy, parish staff, volunteers, parishioners, and greater community

Requirements
  • Microsoft Office experience with good Word and PowerPoint skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or 2-4yrs of relevant experience 
  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License for local event travel
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and great communication skills
  • Familiarity with Catholic culture, parish life, or diocesan structures 
  • Experience planning events from beginning to end
  • Experience working in a mission-driven, nonprofit, faith-based, or pastoral organization a plus 
  • Exhibit sensitivity to the pastoral and emotional context of funeral, cemetery, and bereavement ministry 
  • Able to translate mission and ministry into clear, compassionate messaging for diverse audiences 
  • Bilingual – Spanish a plus
