Automotive Service Technician – Community Ford of Bloomington | Bloomington, IN

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Automotive Service Technician who is willing to learn and be coached in a professional and fast-paced shop. Training and development are key components of this role. Candidates must be open to traveling out of state for manufacturer-sponsored training and continuing their technical education.

Relocation assistance is available for A-Level Technicians:

  • $3,000 relocation incentive.

This role is ideal for a technician who is serious about long-term career growth and joining a dealership that values investment in its people.

Job Type & Schedule
  • Job Type: Full-time

  • Pay: Based on experience and certifications

Work Requirements:

  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM; 1 Saturday per month required

  • Ability to Commute: Bloomington, IN (Required)

  • Work Location: In person

  • Willingness to travel out of state for 1-week training sessions is required

Responsibilities
  • Perform work specified on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy

  • Test-drive vehicles and use diagnostic tools to evaluate and repair systems

  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, HVAC, etc.

  • Communicate clearly with Service Advisors about findings and time estimates

  • Execute warranty repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications

  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment and follow all safety standards

Qualifications
  • 2+ years of Service Technician experience preferred

  • Ford Certification highly preferred

  • Experience at a Ford dealership strongly preferred

  • B-Level qualifications in diagnostic, electrical, and engine repair

  • Excellent mechanical and troubleshooting skills

  • Steady hands, dexterity, and attention to detail

  • Ability to operate diagnostic equipment and use repair software

  • Positive, coachable attitude and a willingness to grow

  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with the service team

  • Willing to travel for out-of-state training as required

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

  • Must be able to pass a drug screening – this is a drug-free workplace
