Job description

We are hiring for:

Employee Development Specialist

Type:

Regular

To provide and coordinate training and programs at the facility; to ensure that State, Federal, and facility standards are met and to upgrade the skills of all staff.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assists in planning, designing, and implementing specialized training to be used toward advance training for employees in the form of workshops, seminars, and/or coursework

  • Assesses, in cooperation with other staff, the training needs of staff at all levels within the facility

  • Prepares written reports and provides for testing of employees enrolled in courses

  • Ensures that required staff training opportunities are scheduled as needed/required. Provides training and the coordination of training for all staff

  • Identifies, recommends, and prioritizes training needs for staff in addition to required training

  • All other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree in Human Services area or an Associate of Arts degree and three years of experience in Human Services or equivalent to three years' experience working in IDD

Pre-employment screening:

  • Name checked in the registries. (OIG exclusions database, Child Abuse Registry, and Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities)
  • Drug testing
  • Education verification and other credentialing based on position requirements.
  • Proof of employment history or references (if required)
  • Positions that require driving Proof of driver's license, driver's insurance, and vehicle, IF required for providing transportation for individuals.
