Job description

Spatial Surgery Development Manager (We have 5 openings for 5 different regions in the Northeast, South, Central, West, and Mid-Atlantic)

What will you be doing?

As a Spatial Surgery Development Manager, you will be responsible for accelerating commercialization, adoption and utilization of Smith+Nebhew’s first-to-market spatial surgery platform, TESSA. Key responsibilities will include market development, customer engagement, opportunity creation, pipeline management, and sales execution across a defined geographic region. You will be tasked with business planning to exceed revenue & sales targets, building and maintaining a healthy sales pipeline, training and certifying surgeons, staff & reps, ensuring flawless trial preparation, execution and customer onboarding experiences from a clinical and technical perspective. The Spatial Surgery Development Manager will report directly to the Area Vice President of Sales – Service & Enabling Technology.

What will you need to be successful?

Success in this role requires a highly strategic and entrepreneurial mindset combining market development, consultative selling, and relationship building to transform the way sports medicine surgery is planned, visualized, and performed. Ideal candidates will meet the following criteria at a minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of orthopedic medical device sales experience. Sports medicine, capital equipment including video, robotics, navigation, or enabling technology sales experience is strongly preferred
  • Strong clinical, presentation, communication and relationship-building skills required
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and align diverse stakeholders, including surgeons, administrators, and executives preferred
Travel Requirements: 90% travel

The anticipated base compensation for this position is $125,0000 - $145,000 USD annually + eligibility for sales commissions. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role at Smith + Nephew. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate. In addition to base compensation, this position is eligible for sales commission and incentives based on set targets. The commission earned will depend on the candidate’s performance in the role. We provide competitive bonus and benefits, which include medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401k, tuition reimbursement, medical leave programs, parental leave, and generous PTO, paid company holidays annually and 8 hours of Volunteer time and a variety of wellness offerings such as EAP.
