Job description

Job Title: EMC Technician

Location: Plymouth, MI

Pay: $60–$75k

Employment Type: Direct Hire


Reliance One is looking for an EMC Technician for one of our clients! If you’re experienced with electronics and EMC testing, this is a hands-on role where you’ll get to work with cutting-edge test equipment in a dynamic automotive environment.


Why This Role?

  • Work directly with EMC/EMI test equipment like EMI receivers, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, LISNs, and antennas.
  • Apply your knowledge of electronic circuits and RF principles.
  • Follow OEM and regulatory standards (GM 3097, FMC 1278, CISPR, IEC 61000, ECE Reg 10).
  • Contribute to a lab-focused team driving process improvements and accurate testing.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and run EMC/EMI test equipment according to defined procedures and test plans.
  • Assist engineers with troubleshooting EMC issues.
  • Maintain and calibrate test instruments, antennas, and related equipment.
  • Prepare and label test samples, documenting setups and results accurately.
  • Support data collection, entry, and organization for reports and customer records.
  • Follow lab safety procedures and keep a clean, organized workspace.
  • Occasionally help engineers create or modify test fixtures and setups.


Must-Haves:

  • 1–3 years of experience in electronics or EMC testing (automotive experience a plus).
  • Familiarity with EMC test equipment and procedures.
  • Basic understanding of electronic circuits and RF principles.
