Job Title

EMC/EMI Project Engineer โ€“ Environmental Effects Engineering (EEE), Collins Aerospace

Location

Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Job Overview

The EEE organization seeks a project engineer to lead EMI testing in a worldโ€‘class facility, managing test readiness, documentation, and coordination across technical teams.

Responsibilities
  • Support EMI projects through design considerations, requirement alignment, and participation in technical reviews.
  • Prepare for and coordinate EMI testing, including schedules, test readiness activities, and required documentation.
  • Work with the test lab to ensure equipment, technicians, and resources are available and aligned with project needs.
  • Develop and update EMI test plans, procedures, and reports, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and repeatability.
  • Coordinate and maintain test documentation such as datasheets, data files, photo logs, and configuration files.
  • Review test data for accuracy and assist test engineers with troubleshooting.
  • Participate in peer reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of documentation and processes.
  • Ensure technicians follow appropriate procedures and maintain accurate documentation throughout testing.
  • Provide internal and external customer communication and support throughout the testing lifecycle.
Qualifications
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance (Secret).
  • STEM degree with minimum 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Experience coordinating crossโ€‘functional teams, aligning requirements, cost, and schedule with program goals.
  • Experience in circuit board and RF design, including schematic capture and PCB layout collaboration.
  • Knowledge of military aerospace testing standards (DOโ€‘160, MILโ€‘STDโ€‘461, MILโ€‘STDโ€‘704).
  • Working knowledge of electromagnetic or circuit simulation tools.
  • Experience supporting RF hardware development activities at subโ€‘system and system level.
  • Willingness to pursue iNARTE certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to write and present technical material clearly and effectively.
Salary

Estimated salary range: $86,800 โ€“ $165,200 USD.
