To receive emergency and non-emergency calls and dispatch security personnel to designated locations.Type of Opportunity: Full timeJob Exempt: NoJob is based: Presbyterian HospitalWork Shift: Varied Days and Hours (United States of America)
Responsibilities:
  • Receive emergency and non-emergency service calls from the public and staff requesting a variety of services. Evaluate and determine nature, location, and priority of emergency; dispatch security officers as necessary. Gathers necessary information over the radio, phone or in person in a timely, efficient and professional manner..
  • Monitor special alarms that are connected to the communications systems; take appropriate action as needed.
  • Follow established emergency procedures as assigned by department maintain communications with law enforcement and emergency agencies as needed.
  • Operate several computer programs relating to dispatch and alarm systems perform data entry of dispatch information.
  • Completes activity log for each shift worked, detailing activities, and accounting for complete shift or duty hours. Maintains logs of patient valuables or lost and found articles,
  • Maintain and enforce established departmental/organizational policies and procedures.
  • Keep supervisor informed of activities and Issues during the shift.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meeting and scheduled training.
  • Gives appropriate response times to requests for service,
  • Reports to work on time, properly uniformed
  • Gathers necessary information (pass on) at start of shift to ensure he/she is up to date on current events to adequately perform their duties.
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality as required and reports any confidentiality breaches to proper authorities immediately or as soon as possible.

Qualifications:
  • Less than one year experience in general security, however 1 year security experience preferred.
  • Must possess effective communication and written and documentation skills. Type accurately at a speed necessary for successful job performance
  • Must be able to perform all requirements and training of a security technician.
  • Must be able to demonstrate familiarization of hospital locations (PHS, KPH, RMC ) and security operations within 6 months of hire date.
